This reminds me of one of my favorite children's books. I believe this one town was in poverty or some such- anyway they needed to get gems from the dragon on the moon. They built a bridge to the moon out of silk and/or cobwebs and the lightest child in the village climbed up. She made friends with the moon dragon, ate with him, and he gave her some of his gems. On the way back down the ladder she found that she was too heavy with all of the jewels in her pockets and the ladder was breaking apart. So she tossed them out into the sky, where they scattered and became the stars.
For the life of me I cannot remember that story's name... but it was very gorgeous. A little piece of my childhood right here
Wow, absolutely beautiful! I originally thought this was watercolor because of how smooth and nicely blended the colors are/ And I love the color palette in general too - I've got a big weak spot for those sugary bright shades. This looks straight out of a children's book.
